#MyStageyYear Part 5: The Half God Of Rainfall – The Kiln Theatre
It’s May which means part five of #MyStageyYear is here! This month I attended The Half God of Rainfall at the newly re-vamped and re-opened Kiln Theatre in Kilburn, North West London.
Come Back! Shows I Want To See Return To The West End
One of my pet peeves about myself is that I always fall in love with things after the hype has died down. Whether it be films (I didn’t get into The Lord of the Rings until like 3 years ago), clothes, books or theatre shows I’m also a bit late to the party. This means that there are whole host of shows that I haven’t seen because my little musical heart wasn’t ready yet.
From Hollywood to Broadway – The Rise of the Movie-to-Musical!
Is it just me or does Broadway and, to a lesser extent, the West End feel inundated with movie to musical adaptations? With Tootsie having just opened on Broadway (and Moulin Rouge! on its way) and BIG coming to London is theatreland suffering from writers block?
#MyStageyYear Part 4 – Luisa Omielan at the SOHO Theatre
Is it just me or is 2019 whizzing past at the rate of knots?! So far so good with the #MyStageyYear series, I have successfully seen one off-West End, regional or fringe piece of theatre every month so far. Part 4 of this series sees me try something new – a stand-up show! And not just any normal stand-up show, a work in progress stand-up show!
2019 Olivier Award Predictions
The Olivier’s are almost here and I can’t wait to see who nabs the most awards and who the surprise winners will be.
Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re fancying treating your mum to something more than flowers and chocs (well check you out money bags) this year I’ve rounded a few shows that I think would be perfect to take your mum or the mother like figure in your life too!
Botox or Bust – Shelley Theatre, Bournemouth
A couple of months ago the lovely Lisa Gaye Wright invites me along to see her brand new musical, Botox or Bust. So yesterday afternoon I headed out of London and down to the coast to see a workshop performance.
Theatre That Shocks and Then Changes The World
This week I want to talk about theatre that is created in order to create social change, open up discourses on subjects that have previously been hidden and giving an opportunity for those who are voiceless the room to speak.
